The so-called "non-partisan" David Condon just accepted a $25,000 contribution from the Washington State Republican Party. However, the donation was really from five of Condon's top donors who were circumvented the state's campaign finance laws.
Five of Condon's donors had already contributed the maximum amount that is legally allowed to Condon’s Campaign. They then sent additional checks to the State Republican Party totaling $25,000, and then the GOP sent a $25,000 check to Condon.
The five illegal donors are:
1. Hoyt Larison, $5,000 to GOP on 10/11
2. Northwest Industrial Services, $4,000 to GOP on 10/12
3. Barr-Tech Owner Ted Condon, $4,000 to GOP on 10/12
4. DAA Northwest, $4,000 to GOP on 10/13
5. Rod Schneidmiller, $8,000 to GOP on 10/
In a recent press release, Daniel Morrissey, Professor of Law at Gonzaga School of Law said “Condon is deliberately circumventing the campaign finance laws that limit excessive contributions. In short, it is money laundering. “Condon is doing indirectly what he is directly prohibited from doing by law.”
Section 390-05-210 (3), & (5)(b) of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) which prohibits political parties from acting as agents of a campaign to circumvent individual campaign contribution limits.
