Remember the Washington Generals?
They were the perennial opponents of the Harlem Globettotters. Their job was to give the Globetrotters a team to play against and make it look like a real basketball game was going on. But really, they were on the same payroll.
You really had to be an idiot to root for a team that was paid to lose. Nobody took the Washington Generals seriously. It was understood what their role was.
Very similar to the Democratic Party. They huff and puff about "The People" and various other democratic-sounding entities, but in the end, they always fold and let the Republicans win. This is sometimes referred to as "bipartisanship" or "pragmatism," or even "being a grown up."
But what it really is, is that they're on the same payroll.
The Democratic Party and the Republican Party are the two wings of The Corporate Party.
This is simply the sad truth, and always will be as long as our political system runs on corporate money.
There's really no reason to sit around and wonder why Democrats seem so clueless about how to "win."
Winning is not their job. Their job is to maintain the illusion of a democracy in a corporate world.
