Congress has approved a 725 billon dollar miltary bill last week were is the outrage? While main stream media coverage was about 'Don't Ask Don't Tell and Dream Act. This bill is the largest military budget ever approved amid a poor US economy and a deficit that continues to inflate. This is an outrage that in the face of the deficit and all of the war crimes shed to light by Wikileaks the bill is still approved by congress. The 341-48 vote saw vast majorities of both parties supporting it, while the same two party system finds way to cut into the social needs of average citizens. The budget expense and heavy pricetag also included a ban on closing the detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
Some officials expressed disappointment they couldn't add more to the 725 billion in spending, not because of the expense but because they could not include more into the bill.
In this regard, it seems the Obama Administration may be facing the prospect of an "emergency" appropriation bill at the same point next year that will push the already record bill even closer to a trillion dollars.
