And so it begins...CNN reports that the Trump Administration has placed new sanctions on the Iranian government Iranian individuals and businesses linked to the missile program in response to the recent missile test. Iran has said they will continue the tests. Presumably this will lead to one side or the other abrogating the nuclear weapons deal. This would, of course, open the way for arguing that Iran has a nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program that must be attacked militarily.
From CNN: “The Treasury Department said it was sanctioning individuals and companies connected to Iran's ballistic missile program and those providing support to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Qods Force…
Trump on Thursday refused to rule out military action against Iran, saying that "nothing is off the table" when it comes to confronting destabilizing behavior from the country. While Obama also refused to rule out military action, Trump's rhetoric reflects a scaled-up posture.”
Great
EDITED: BalanaceSeeker pointed out that the sanctions are not against the government but against individuals and business associated with the missile program. As noted in the text I quoted from CNN. Derp. Corrected!
