On July 29, 2005, the "Border Protection Corps Act" was submitted to the House of Representatives by John Culberson (R-TX) and 47 other house Reps. Per the Bill

To authorize the Governor of a State to organize and call into service a militia of able-bodied and eligible citizens to help prevent individuals from unlawfully crossing an international border and entering the United States anywhere other than a port of entry, to appropriate funds to support this service, and for other purposes.

This little gem of anti Iran propaganda is expected to run on television. I haven't seen it (until today on the internets). But I would like to hear from people when it starts to appear.

I think including footage of Kerry is odd. I guess the Republicans still consider him a threat.

Gone are the days of waiting for wars to break out and then drawing up ad hoc plans to pick up the pieces.

In close cooperation with the National Intelligence Council, Pascual's office keeps "high risk" countries on a "watch list" and assembles rapid-response teams ready to engage in prewar planning and to "mobilize and deploy quickly" after a conflict has gone down.
The teams are made up of private companies, nongovernmental organizations and members of think tanks--some, Pascual told an audience at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in October, will have "pre-completed" contracts to rebuild countries that are not yet broken. Doing this paperwork in advance could "cut off three to six months in your response time."

A judge has refused to grant a divorce to a pregnant woman trying to leave her husband two years after he was jailed for beating her, ruling instead that she must wait until the child is born.

Shawnna Hughes' husband was convicted of abuse in 2002. She separated from him after the attack and filed for divorce last April. She later became pregnant by another man and is due in March.

When the American Taliban is in charge its good to be single.
