Today I'm happy to be streaming live a house party for Norman Solomon, a candidate for California's second district.

There is going to be some time for Q&A and we are going to try to get questions from online included. If you'd like to ask a question, simply hop on over to the ustream chat (I can't guarantee that I'll be able to monitor the comments here during the event).

The event starts at 2:00, but we expect there to be some time for mingling and such, so we've prepared some programming to stream in while we wait for the event to get under way, but we will cut away to the livefeed just as soon as things get started (I expect that to be about 2:30).

UPDATE: The deadline for submissions was extended until Wednesday after numerous requests. You'v got plenty of time to get your submission in!

Okay, by now I am sure you have seen John Lithgow's performance of Newt Gingrich's epic press release (you can see the text below the fold, I don't throw around the word "epic" lightly).

Progressive Congress wants to see your rendition! The deadline for submissions in Monday, 11:59pm, which is a little less than 34 hours from now. Not only do you get to have a lot of fun, but you have a chance at winning an iPad2 and meeting Congressman Raul Grijalva, the Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. I will be one of the judges, along with David Waldman, Darcy Burner, and Beth Becker. We are seriously looking forward to watching the submissions, but here's the thing, we need yours!

I noticed there was not a single group for people making what we at Sum of Change have come to call Grassroots Video. By that, we mean video of, from, and for the grassroots community. We're talking protests, demonstrations, rallies, house meetings, interviews with activists, documentaries, conferences, and anywhere you find grassroots organizers in action.
