But only after he does several things. Only he has the power to stop the madness. Only he has the tools. He has been sworn to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. We now face an existential threat as a nation that is unprecedented from enemies both foreign and domestic, and President Obama has the tools necessary to deal with this problem. Ironically, it was the last Republican President who gave him those tools in the aftermath of 9/11. To my knowledge, Obama has used them judiciously and with restraint. But now is not the time for restraint. We are dealing with an unprecedented threat that requires unprecedented response.
We face nothing less than a national emergency and Obama should declare it as such. Our election has been tampered with, and until there is a proper and thorough investigation, we should not legitimize the results. President Obama needs to declare a national emergency and utilize the full powers of the National Security Apparatus to get to the bottom of it. That means declaring a national emergency. Initiating a full investigation of the events surrounding the election. Suspending the Electoral College certification until a proper investigation is conducted. Round up and take into custody key players for questioning, including the PEOTUS if necessary. Then he needs to resign and hand over the whole thing to Joe Biden as caretaker, with possibly Paul Ryan as VP so it could be a temporary coalition government.
Only the President has the power to stop this madness, and once he gives up that power it will be too late. Once he gives up his power, there will be nothing stopping Trump from turning right around and rounding up Obama and Hillary and everyone else he wants, and why shouldn’t he? Now that Obama and other Dems are making noise about the legitimacy of the election, Trump will want his revenge once he takes power, and it would not surprise me to see him immediately go back on every promise and round up the players of the previous administration and start show trials.
The time to stop this is now, and Mr. President, only you have the tools to do so. Please, stop the madness.
