Many here I’m sure are familiar with Isaac Aasimov’s seminal work of Science Fiction called The Foundation Series. It’s a brilliant piece of work that follows the career of Harry Seldon, an academic who formulates a Theory of Psychohistory that can be utilized to essentially predict and even control the course of galactic history. I won’t get into much more detail about those books, except to say READ THEM! But I will utilize the concept of psychohistory as a real thing; that is to say that certain events in human history, certain group behaviors are in many ways predictable and may even be able at some point to be described by mathematical formulae. Obviously, we’re nowhere near that point or what Harry Seldon was able to achieve, but I still like to examine phenomenon, especially group social dynamics and history through this lens.
Many people may not know this, but there actually is a real body of work on a real theory of psychohistory.

This brings us to the current moment and the current US elections. If we were to look at this moment through a psychohistorical lens, what would we see? What would be able to deduce? What would we be able to predict?
According to some aspects of the psychohistorical model, in a fundamental way what we’re witnessing in this country now is a split between at least two factions or groups. And the fundamental fault line between those two groups, at the most basic level, would be how they were raised as children. Were they abused? Or were they raised in a loving environment. This is a common template that we all as humans share; how were we reared? It is one of the most basic perceptual templates for humans, one that formulates our most basic outlook and framework for perceiving the world and for modelling and motivating our behavior.
For most of history, childhood was a nightmare of abuse and neglect in most of the world. And for most of history, the world has been caught up in a spiraling ritualistic cycles of war and sacrifice. As childrearing has evolved, these ritualistic cycles of violence seem to lessen, as generations after generation is hopefully reared in a more loving, caring way.
However, there is still a large segment of the population in this country that was raised by abusive, authoritarian and neglectful parents. I submit that it is mostly that cohort that would be the GOP, and the subset of Trump supporters would be the most damaged of the lot. These people NEED authoritarians, they have an emotional NEED for the ritual/cycle to continue, the ramp up, the blood lust and the purge that comes from sacrifice. Their leaders instinctually know this, and will often start wars in order to sate that lust. War is human sacrifice and it is mostly an emotional group need for that ritualistic sacrifice. That is why to those of us on the outside looking in, it seems as if the nation slept walked it’s way into Iraq, for example. We couldn’t understand it. It’s because we were watching a ritual/cycle playing itself out the way it has for thousands of years. Much of the population were literally entranced, programmed to just go along, programmed by their abusive parents, the need to follow, to perpetuate the abuse and demand sacrifice to “make us great again” was literally beaten into them by their abusive parents.
If one looks at history, we can see how the events of today are repeating events of the past. The Germans were notorious for their abusive, stern and authoritarian parenting methods, and so now we see Trump rally’s and we see those same abused neglected adults programmed to respond to the ritualistic call for blood they hear Trump loudly bellowing, just as Hitler did.
Interestingly, the following article that I believe is relevant from a psychohistorical perspective was recently published, I would recommend reading it, it’s fascinating:
Human Sacrifice is Linked to Social Hierarchies in New Study
Saying they found "a darker link between religion and the evolution of modern hierarchical societies" than has been previously suggested, a group of scientists say ritual human sacrifice promoted stratified social systems – and helped to sustain inherited class systems once they were established.
After comparing dozens of societies, the researchers found that ritualized human sacrifice was far more common in highly stratified societies than it was in egalitarian societies. Noting the high level of overlap between religious and political sectors in the societies, the scientists write, "human sacrifice may have been co-opted by elites as a divinely sanctioned means of social control."
Acknowledging that their findings might be "unpalatable," the scientists say, "our results suggest that ritual killing helped humans transition from the small egalitarian groups of our ancestors, to the large stratified societies we live in today."
For the study, researchers looked at 93 traditional Austronesian cultures – societies that share a family of languages and span from Madagascar to Easter Island and from Taiwan to New Zealand. For each one, they noted how segmented the society was — designating them egalitarian or either moderate or highly stratified — as well as the presence of human sacrifice in their rituals.

The discussion of ritual is important. Notice the ritualistic nature that Trump rally’s have taken on. The chanting, the slogans, the disruption of a protester, a violent reaction. Etc. It’s now a ritual that Trumpster’s are engaging, in. One that is ramping up to SOMETHING.
This brings us to the GOP heading into Cleveland and basically broadcasting their intent to ratfuck the nomination from the Trump. This is where psychohistory gets interesting, as the group turns it’s attention INWARD. Notice how they are ALL purists. The Trumpists are the pure one’s, unsullied by the corrupt politicians or political correctness. Only THEY (or Trump) can make America Great Again! The corruption MUST be purged so the country can be PURE (white) and great again!
The GOP elite of course have other ideas, that it’s Trump who is impure and needs to be stopped (purged). His Trumpites are upstarts, sully and degrading their party. He MUST be stopped at all costs. He MUST be purged, so the party can be pure again.
The GOP is heading into uncharted territories. The GOP has always been fundamentally segmented and non egalitarian.
GOP Delegates Have No Idea What's Gonna Hit Them In Cleveland
talkingpointsmemo.com/...
Vogler said one of the biggest complications for him is that the convention rules are only selected the week before the convention, giving him and others little time.
“We could all go there planning for one reality, but at the convention when they release the rules, it could turn everything upside down," Vogler said.
The reality is that the delegates heading to Cleveland are not all party insiders with an agenda to stop Trump and a handy step-by-step guide. Instead, they are a rag tag group of more than 2,000 party regulars – each with his or her own set of motivations and allegiances trying to keep up with rigorous and complicated convention proceedings.

The legal rules surrounding what delegates can and cannot accept are fuzzy and yet one more obstacle for political outsiders who will have to tread carefully to avoid crossing any legal lines. The Post reports that "delegates cannot take money from corporations, labor unions, federal contractors or foreign nationals. But an individual donor is permitted to give a delegate unlimited sums to support his or her efforts to get selected to go to the convention."

It is going to be an orgy of debasement It is going to be a ratfuckers paradise with a group of people with little to no ability at self reflection or self control, filled with anger, resentment and lot’s of cash, goodies and bribes, favors and lies floating around all over the place. There will be calls for protests and allegations of cheating, corruption and rot. There will be a deep need for a ritualistic cleansing, a purging. They will demand a ritual sacrifice in order to achieve this.
There will be blood.
