#kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too! Welcome to diary number 15 in our periodic series.

Our goal is to amplify Kossack voices by making it very easy to follow each other on Twitter, sharing and promoting the best of Daily Kos and news from everywhere with each other and, using hashtag cross pollination, with other parts of the progressive twitterverse. Just add #kt2 (and/or #dkos -- see below) to your tweets. Combine our hashtag with the tags for your favorite progressive groups, like #uniteblue, #p2 and #ConnectTheLeft. Then, easily find tweets by your fellow Kossacks on Twitter by searching for tweets with #kt2 or #dkos. Easy!

If you're not yet on Twitter and have no idea what it means to follow someone or be followed on Twitter, or what hashtags are, but would like to add a powerful and popular tool to your blogging experience, then simply go to twitter.com and sign up as a new user. You'll need to pick a Twitter name, which can be (but certainly does not have to be) the same as your DKos name. Twitter provides extensive tutorials and online help at the Twitter Help Center.

These diaries were formerly published weekly. But after an initially enthusiastic response, the comments seemed to dwindle a bit, so it seems more appropriate to now publish these monthly. It's more likely that there will a larger number of new tweeting Kossacks in a month.

In the last diary a month ago, there was some discussion in the diary and the comments, of the use of the hashtag #dkos versus #kt2. While a number of you seemed to prefer #dkos largely because it's a more easily recognized identifier, review of online tweets shows a somewhat larger number of people using #kt2. Rather than trying to change at this point, it seems most logical to suggest that people continue using whichever they prefer, or both (character limit permitting). Feel free to continue the discussion if you'd like.

So, don't forget to add #kt2 and/or #dkos to your tweets.

I have 'created" a twitter 'hashtag' that I would hope people might pick up or use during the coming days and months as the GOP war on Women and Rights, and Jobs, and everything else under the sun really gears up.

The tag is "#republicanbumrush" because I think the GOP has entered a phase in which they have realized they can literally "bumrush" the political process in their states.

Various definitions of Bum Rush

To run full speed into somebody and body slam them into a brick wall, chain link fence, or similar immovable object.
The act of attacking someone or something (usually by a group)with the reckless abandon and fervor of one who has nothing to loose.

On August 14, the Rio Arriba Community Health Council will hold All Things Medicaid, our first ever Twitter Town Hall. The hashtag for the event is #HealthierNM. Some of my readers know that I went to Netroots Nation this year to learn how to put together a Twitter Town Hall to help my community, which is tucked away in the Rocky Mountains, communicate without the mediation of outside press. Momsrising members like Elisa Batista (@elisabatista) and Dr. Kim Ellis (@drgoddess) showed me the ropes as per the video link below.

With the monumental events of the past week, Twitter truly has gone wild, and Kossacks are increasingly in the thick of it. In fact, if you search on our hashtag #kt2 on Twitter right now, you'll find over 60 tweets by over a dozen different Kossacks posted just in the past 24 hours, pointing to great diaries, celebrating victory in Texas (#StandWithWendy) and #DOMA and #Prop8, not to mention #Snowden and #NSA, and #ClimateChange and on an on, sharing the best of DKos and news from everywhere with each other and, with the wonder of hashtag cross pollination, with other progressives who may not yet be here.

That's our goal: to amplify Kossack voices by making it very easy to follow each other on twitter, and to find and respond to each other's tweets using the hashtag #kt2. Add #kt2 to your tweets. One quick note: I discovered over the weekend that Bill Moyers' twitter account that's listed in his DKos profile is for an old and no longer used account. I can't fix the DKos profile, but I did update The List here as soon as I discovered the profile error, so what appears below -- @BillMoyersHQ -- is now correct. (There is a separate account for his show Moyers & Company, @MoyersStaff, that is not listed here.) Greetings! This diary was originally published two months into the periodic #kt2 diary series, and it will remain as a permanent reference list that will not be republished, but will always be kept up to date as we add more kossacks to The List. It will always be linked from the periodic #kt2 diaries.

The biggest difference between this diary and the periodic diaries, aside from the fact that those were weekly (and as of August 2013, will be monthly) and this permanent diary will be updated but not republished, is that the monthly diaries will henceforth only contain links to each person's twitter account, where you can click to follow them. That will allow the monthly diaries to load much more rapidly, especially for those with slow connections.

In contrast, this diary uses twitter follow buttons, that allow you to easily see who you are following -- if you are logged into twitter on the same browser, the buttons of those you are already following are grayed out, so you can simply go down the list and add whomever you wish to follow without leaving this page. The buttons also allow you to see how many followers each person has. The disadvantage of this permanent, button diary is that it will load more slowly -- MUCH more slowly if you have a slow Internet connection, and more slowly still as the list continues to grow. Which is fine, if you have a fast connection. You likely won't be returning here very often.

And you always have the option of visiting the latest monthly diary that doesn't use buttons. The latest monthly diary will have the same list as you see below, although on the days when the monthly diaries are published, the monthly diaries will be updated first.

THE MONTHLY DIARIES WILL ALWAYS BE AT THE TOP OF THE KOSSACKS TWEET TOO #KT2 GROUP PAGE, WHICH IS FOUND HERE.

PLEASE USE THE MONTHLY DIARIES TO LEAVE COMMENTS, ESPECIALLY COMMENTS THAT INCLUDE YOUR TWITTER @NAME IN THE HEADER, RATHER THAN LEAVING COMMENTS HERE -- since it's likely that we won't find your comment as fast here. And this diary will not have the New Additions section at the top. Only the weekly diaries will have that.

#kt2 -- Kossacks Tweet Too!! - Weekly diary #9.

Longer, because we are now rapidly approaching 200 kossacks on The List.

Faster, because the weekly diaries will now show only follow links, not buttons. The buttons are nifty, because you can see at a glance if you are following someone (the button is grayed out if you are logged into your twitter account in the same browser), and you can see the number of followers for each person. But the buttons each link to twitter, so they load much more slowly, and now with this many kossacks on the list, slowly loading diaries are not happy diaries. So...

We will now maintain a new, permanent, separate diary with buttons!! Since the permanent button list diary is entirely optional, if you have a fast Internet connection, you are most welcome to make use of it. It will always be at the same place:
