When Sec. Paulson and the Bush Administration started saying, "We have to sign the bill now, don't stop to read it, we have to do this now...." I knew something smelled wrong. We fell for it the last time, mostly because we were in shock and we didn't know any better. We actually had reason to hope that Bush did want what was best for the country in an emergency. We know better now.
In the middle of the bailout bill, in section 8 is hidden this little bombshell:
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority
of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency
discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law
or any administrative agency.
Non-reviewable by any court or administrative agency. Above the law. Above the Constitution.
Once again, in the middle of a nation-wide emergency, this administration is trying to make an end-run around the Constitution in order to commit more crimes and insulate themselves from those they committed that caused the emergency.
Call your Congressmen and let them know that the jig is up and that this time, we aren't buying it. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
