Back before Sarah Palin was on the ticket, she did an interview where she said of Hillary Clinton and the attacks on her in the media:
She does herself a disservice to even mention it really. You've got to plow through that. You've got to know what you are getting into....any king of perceived whine about that access criticism...I think, man, that doesn't do us any good, women in politics, women in general, wanting to progress in society.
OK, tough, but understandable.
media
But then Sarah Palin became Sarah Palin the vice presidential candidate....with little experience......and an extreme stance on birth control and a pregnant teen daughter.....and a connection to a secessionist group....and an active investigation concerning wrong doings....
And suddenly the shoe is definitely on the other foot. And does Sarah stand firm and take it like a seasoned politician aware that it's part of the deal?
No. She whines.
She whines that she will do not interviews until the main stream media agree to treat her with "respect and deference". I swear, I am not making this stuff up.
What happened to it being a disservice to even mention it?
What happened to knowing what you were getting yourself into?
What happened to the damage whining did to the perception of women in power?
Here's a tip for you, Yup Yup - respect is not given, it's earned. And you are the one looking for the job, not us. We don't defer to you, you defer to us. The American people have a right to know if you are able to withstand the rigors of being a breath away from the most powerful post in the world. If you can't handle Campbell Brown without folding your igloo and going home, how are we to assume you could handle Osama bin Laden if he makes a return trip?
To quote one of your favorite politicians, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!"
And stop whining. respect and deference
