Sparking the Left
One of the promises the Obama administration made when it came to foreign policy was simple and straightforward: Don't do stupid s*** (stuff). While they've been successful in living up to that mantra by doing things like making the nuclear deal with Iran, they've failed miserably and disgracefully in Egypt.
Oh, hilarity!
As the situation in McKinney continues to play out over the disgusting and disgraceful assault on a minor by former officer Eric Casebolt, I couldn't help but notice there was an act of bravery seen in the now viral video. No, it wasn't Casebolt and he clearly was not in danger of losing his life, as one recently removed principal suggested. It was a reflexive reaction of courage. It just wasn't performed by any of the people in uniform.
Just a reminder...
As the peaceful negotiations over a nuclear deal with Iran happily make their way to a resolution, many opponents of the current deal (or any deal with Iran) raise irrelevant alarm bells over some of the rhetoric that emanates from the Iranian leadership.
Every once in a while a news headline on Yahoo's home page catches my eye, mostly because it seems completely ridiculous. Yesterday was no exception when I saw the ominous headline "Restaurants in Seattle Going Dark as $15 an Hour Minimum Wage Looms". A scary headline for an article with content that shouldn't scare anyone that made it past kindergarten.
Money, money, money, dru-ugs…and guns. I forget how that song goes.
Can’t avoid the impending Iran deal and the circus now around it but more good news on gay marriage.
A little bit of good news and a lot of bad…
A few tidbits from the day's news.
Lies and income inequality, oh my!
As I listened to the newly discovered recording of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speech from December 7, 1964 in London, I couldn’t help but notice how many different lessons from his speech we still haven’t learned as a society. It’s a little more than 50 years later and we still struggle to get over so many hurdles that should have been accomplished so long ago. Here’s a few instances from the speech that jump out for me.
