The more than 100 mosques of New York are visual signs, not only of the presence of these Muslim Americans, but also of the religious freedom that distinguishes the American way of life. By their very existence they defeat the hostile, polarized vision of Islam and America that the authors of the WTC attacks hoped to engender.

It should be obvious that New York City already has a rich history of Muslim mosques.

It should be clear that Sara Palin is playing divide and conquer and laughing all the way to the bank with all the money she is getting, like 65,000 for a seat at her breakfast with Glen Bleck.

The latest meme to silence the effects of racism is the "

if you criticize Obama you must be a racist"

theme. This seems to me to be a tool, a way to silence critical objections of racism while at the same time, diminishing the actual current affairs of racism in the US.

I am late, as usual, but this time I am so late that way too much time has passed. I pick up the phone, and make my appointment to see my doctor at the hospital in NY, and am surprised that I can be seen in a few short weeks. My stomach has begun to twist and turn in the quiet manner of a restless sleep.

Darryl Littlejohn is standing trial for the murder of Imette St. Guillen. His lawyer says that his client has been framed. Imette St. Guillen suffered a horrible death, and it makes me sick to my stomach to think about what happened to her.

When I wrote the previous post about racial abuse, I used the way teachers invalidate racism by making the comparison to kids who are overweight or wear glasses. Now, of course, I think it is wrong to bully any child, and of course, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that teasing a child for being too fat, or wearing glasses is extremely painful.
