According to newspaper reports, there's a good chance that next year Israelis will not need a visa to visit the United States.
Assuming the negotiations work out, Israeli settlers in the West Bank will get the visa waiver, while their next-door Palestinian neighbors will not. Thus the U.S. will unintentionally contribute to the apartheid situation in the West Bank.
If the U.S. government is truly opposed to West Bank settlements, it can take a principled stand now: Either all residents of the occupied territories get the visa waiver, or none do.
Not that I'm holding my breath.
