George Michael is currently touring Europe to commemorate his 25 years as a performer. The tour has been a stunning success. Michael doesn't even have to advertise; I didn't see a single poster in Stuttgart announcing his concert there, which was a sell-out.
Here is a photog of the opening of "Shoot the Dog." An inflated Bush is being serviced by Poodle-boy Blair on stage. George Michael pulled on Blair's tail, trying to pry Blair-as-poodle off Bush's member, and then he kicked at Blair, a commentary of Michael's view re: performing artists' right to free speech, per the Dixie Chicks. The audience loved it. A second concert had to be scheduled the following night, the demand was so great. I wonder whether such a performance, by an American artist, would be tolerated in the US, or even abroad, these days.
