The main theme of the debate that needs to happen between Democrats and Republicans over the next eight months is a debate over prejudice in all forms.
It has to happen finally. AND RIGOROUSLY. The voices on our side of this debate need to be equally as powerful in their rhetoric.
I am not comparing Trump to Hitler or Mussolini (in this story) but I am definitely stressing the fact that he has given a voice to the ugliest part of this country and they feel emboldened by it.
Republicans have been using prejudice to stoke their base and win votes for years now, but Trump has gone far to the right of most of their rhetoric.
Does he truly believe what he is saying? It doesn’t matter, because many of his voters absolutely do and therein lies the problem.
The worst of them are beginning to feel like they can come out of the shadows and openly act on their prejudice.
If Trump is elected President much of the prejudice he espouses will be given a legitimate platform in the eyes of the hate groups who are voting for him.
If he goes on to disappoint them as President, this movement will coalesce around another leader.
It these issues aren’t strongly countered and Trump were to be defeated in the fall, in their eyes, it won’t be because Trump failed. His failure will be blamed on the “Jew owned” liberal media bias and Trump will continue with his “movement”.
At this very moment, there is some asshole out there who is studying every word and action of Donald Trump.
He is thinking to himself, I can do the very same thing only better and guess what, if Donald Trump can talk about dipping bullets in pig’s blood, I can go a little bit further and openly talk about registering Muslims with the government.
He is thinking to himself, if Donald Trump can talk about banning 1.6 billion people from this country, maybe I can begin to openly speak of segregating gays.
He is thinking, if Donald Trump can talk about building a wall between Mexico and America, maybe I can openly begin talking about separating white people from brown people.
Donald Trump has thrown these people a lifeline and legitimized their cause. The fact that he came out finally and disavowed the KKK and David Duke doesn’t matter.
From the Washington Post:
It involves, say, walking into a coffee shop or sitting on a train while carrying a newspaper with a Donald Trump headline. The Republican presidential candidate, Pendergraft told The Post, has become a great outreach tool, providing separatists with an easy way to start a conversation about issues that are important to the dying white supremacist movement.
“One of the things that our organization really stresses with our membership is we want them to educate themselves on issues, but we also want them to be able to learn how to open up a conversation with other people,” Pendergraft said.

They say that they know he has to disavow the klan and make a comparison to being stuck in a closet, but Trump has cracked the door for them, and they now have one foot outside in the light.
Visit ANY white supremacist website and read as they bask in the sunlight that Trump has handed them.
It is the job now of Democrats and the decent people of this country to slam the door on prejudice once and for all and throw away the key.
