Then-President George Herbert Walker Bush was visiting the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in order to attend the funeral of former Senator John Tower, who had been defeated as Bush's choice for Secretary of Defense. I was a student at the university, and as part of a "candid portrait" assignment in photography class I decided that getting a miracle shot of President Bush would be an easy A.
