FL Sheriff Implores Citizenry to Become Experts in "Tactical Shooting"

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey has posted a video to Facebook, which ends up being an ad for an upcoming Tactical Shooting course offered by the department. He implores people in his county(“citizen heros” as well as military veterans) to arm themselves and obtain CC permits, so that in an “active shooter” event, the “good guy with the gun” (his actual words) prevails. He conflates a recent local domestic violence shooting with “Terrorism” in the next breath.

This is my county. I went to high school with this guy’s daughter. The family is by no means a Florida stereotype, they’re solidly vanilla upper middle class in every way.

I should also add that this county is one of several “ground zeros” for the MIC, but the wealth disparity here keeps the county one of the lowest median income areas in FL. We have the newly expanded Harris Corp, Northrup Grumman, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, etc etc — I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few. Law enforcement definitely benefits from its largesse, they routinely get a proportionally large percentage of the state’s police military gear, and even new goodies and experimental toys to test out: most recently Harris Corp’s “Stingray” eavesdropping device.

A darkly humorous retort to an antagonistic comment posted to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office FB comments section, regarding the power of this county’s law enforcement apparatus.

“they own 9 Apache helicopters so better get on the good side before the lines are drawn”

At the time this diary was written, there were already 12K likes, and 1400+ mostly supportive comments(with the odd sprinkling of ridicule). I recognized several names. My husband’s best friend’s baby momma is flaming out there right now. Not a good day, but thankfully I’m not actually on FB, or I’d have been drawn in myself.

So I was reading a play-by-play of the trial(from April) of this latest massacre-by-cop and was unsurpised to find that the former Marine who jumped on he hood of the car and emptied his weapon, had learned this 'tactic' in his Marine training.

Nope. There are no Nazis in Ukraine. This woman, a brave patriot from the notorious Aidar Battalion, I'm sure has no knowledge what the number(in gothic script no less) "1488" means. And The Guardian obviously doesn't either, as they are using this pic in a propaganda puff piece on the female component of Aidar.

What I find strange is that the "Crossed Grenades" symbol, another Nazi emblem, was also lost on them. Two unacknowledged nazi symbols in a pic accompanying a pro-Ukrainian-army piece?

Israel must do the following:
a) The IDF [Israeli army] shall designate certain open areas on the Sinai border, adjacent to the sea, in which the civilian population will be concentrated, far from the built-up areas that are used for launches and tunneling. In these areas, tent encampments will be established, until relevant emigration destinations are determined.

The supply of electricity and water to the formerly populated areas will be disconnected.

b) The formerly populated areas will be shelled with maximum fire power. The entire civilian and military infrastructure of Hamas, its means of communication and of logistics, will be destroyed entirely, down to their foundations.

c) The IDF will divide the Gaza Strip laterally and crosswise, significantly expand the corridors, occupy commanding positions, and exterminate nests of resistance, in the event that any should remain.

d) Israel will start searching for emigration destinations and quotas for the refugees from Gaza. Those who wish to emigrate will be given a generous economic support package, and will arrive at the receiving countries with considerable economic capabilities.

e) Those who insist on staying, if they can be proven to have no affiliation with Hamas, will be required to publicly sign a declaration of loyalty to Israel, and receive a blue ID card similar to that of the Arabs of East Jerusalem.

f) When the fighting will end, Israeli law will be extended to cover the entire Gaza Strip, the people evicted from the Gush Katif will be invited to return to their settlements, and the city of Gaza and its suburbs will be rebuilt as true Israeli touristic and commercial cities.

Another leaked phone call, this time between the EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton and Estonian foreign affairs minister Urmas Paet, where Paet says that on his Feb 25 visit to Kiev, where he met with deputy speaker of Rada and head of Regions Party fraction, a leading Maidan doctor showed him evidence that the wounds she was treating in both the protesters and the police were caused by the same bullets.

Absolutely embarrassing mob reaction to nothing is what this is, and it couldn't be more unproductive given the tendency for Those Who Are Right Once In A Blue Moon to glom on to any point they've been in the right about, and never let the other side live it down.

Furthermore, to suggest that he was trying to neologize, with something as sophisticated as "Governmentnik", is as outlandishly speculative as thinking that this tame, vanilla person would "slip" and say the N-word in a campaign appearance. And by "tame, vanilla", I don't mean he's not a middling everymans' fascist, but he's certainly not the type of uncouth loose-lipped racist that can be found in the comments section of the Fox News blog, or ranting in the periphery of the tea party meetups.

So this is my take folks; I only decided to diary it because no one else has mentioned what seemed, to me, immediately obvious.

He was on track to say "Big Government", dyslexically said Government first, and before his lingual system could catch up(ie move on to the next ostensible point), his slow brain tried to go back and put in the missed word, "Big". However, since "Big" was then in the slot that "Government" should've taken, his vocalization utilized the prevalent consonant from Government; "N", in the place of "B". All of this takes place in a split second of course...

Thing is, when your entire expressive speech revolves around repeating the same catch phrases over and over, these things are bound to happen. I mean it's not like righties have original speech about Serious Things, ever. Haven't we learned that, yet?
