I said home, not house, on purpose.
I live on a military base in the SE. My home is in a very quiet, peaceful and lovely little cul-de-sac, which very few people even realize is there. I love it.
They take my Bachelor Allowance for Housing (BAH) (about $1,300 a month) for a decent roof over my head, free electric, free water and free repairs. All in all, however, I'm losing approx $200 dollars per month compared to the apartment I was living in previously.
But it's worth it for the neighborhood.
But some of that is about to change.
Follow below the fold.
