I really hate the whole "our troops" phrase. It serves to dehumanize them just as much as racial slurs serve to dehumanize the people they're aimed at, though for different reasons and with different flavor.
On the other hand, though, it seems like too much of what we see from "over there" is all about the tragedy and horror of war. Broken bodies, blood, violence, anger, death.
