Two arrests have been made in last night's shooting of five Black Lives Matter protesters in Minneapolis:
The Minneapolis Police Department took a 23-year-old white man into custody around 11:20 a.m. in nearby Bloomington, Minnesota, according to a news release. The news release did not identify the man, stating that his name would be released upon charging. Police later tweeted that they arrested a 32-year-old Hispanic man at 12:05 p.m. in Minneapolis.
The motive of the shooting has not yet been made clear, but according to witnesses:
Black Lives Matter rep Miski Noor told the Star-Tribune shots rang out after protesters tried to usher away a trio of white supremacists wearing bulletproof vests.
One of the gunmen was wearing a mask and "shouting the 'n-word,' " Noor said.
None of the injuries are life-threatening.
