A developing story out of Los Angeles:
All Los Angeles Unified School District schools were closed Tuesday after LAUSD received a “credible terror threat,” according to school district officials and police.
More details about the threat were expected to be provided during a Tuesday morning news conference.
Bus drivers were already out on their routes to pick up the more than 640,000 children enrolled in LAUSD schools.
Several LAUSD school bus drivers told Eyewitness News that they have been called back by their dispatchers to their respective bus depots.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting the threat was called in to a school board member.
We’ll add more information here as it becomes available.

The New York Times has more information on the threat. From LAUSD Superintendent Ramon C. Cortines:
“A threat had been made to not one school but many schools in this district,” he said. “Some of the details talked about backpacks and other packages. After talking with him, also with the board president, I made a decision to close all of the schools.”
He said that he had asked officials to search all the schools within the district, and to “work systematically through the schools.”
“I’ve asked the plant managers to walk the school, and if they see anything that is out of order to call the police. Not to touch anything, but if they see anything out of line to contact the proper authorities,” Mr. Cortines said. He said the threat was directed at many schools, which is what prompted him to act.
