Whatever.
The conservative blogosphere had a collective melt down after President Barack Obama took a picture in front of a mural of Cuban revolutionary leader Che Guevara on Monday in Havana's Revolution Plaza.
Yes, yes, we're all very shocked. Drudge is shocked. The Washington Examiner is shocked. Everybody is shocked. You would never see Ronald Reagan letting himself get photographed in front of a gigantic scowling bust of communist leader Vladimir Lenin, except here is a photograph of that happening. You'd never see other Republican leaders smiling as they happily stood in front of images of Chairman Mao, et cetera, and so on, and you might as well go to that link and thumb through them because what the hell.
The state of Republican rhetoric is deeply concerning these days. Not because it is vitriolic, but because it is stupid. It is really, deeply stupid, whether it be Jonah Goldberg's Kardashianesque musings on what the Nazis were like or Ben Shapiro reminding us all that he has no interest in or knowledge of anything that happened before Ben Shapiro unleashed himself upon a grateful world. It is the sort of stupid that can turn a Donald Trump into a statesman, and Ted Cruz into a uniter, and results in people passing each other urgent messages about the coming American takeover of Texas.
