The Washington Post published its interview with John Kasich Wednesday night. Jo-Ann Armao, the paper’s associate editorial page editor, brought up the issue of statehood for the District of Columbia, something Kasich voted against when he was in Congress. She followed up with:
Uh-huh. Governor Kasich and Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted are the GOP’s poster boys when it comes to voter suppression. And they, like other Republican suppressors, have one overarching rationale behind their shenanigans: Keeping as many Democrats as possible away from the polls and away from public office.
It’s good to see more of them openly admitting it. Some kind of progress.
