Republicans have a businessman running for president, therefore game over, all businesspersons will support him, right? Oh, wait …
A group of major business leaders endorsed Hillary Clinton on Thursday in the wake of back-to-back speeches extolling her economic vision and slamming that of her opponent, Donald Trump.
The list includes current and former executives from General Motors, Delta Air Lines, Costco, Airbnb and Alphabet, the parent company for online search giant Google.
We shouldn’t elevate these executives’ opinions on politics any more than we should believe that Donald Trump will be a good president because he owns some hotels and golf courses. Being rich and knowing what’s best for the country are not the same thing. But it’s a nice blow to one major narrative about what Trump was supposed to bring to the table.
