Um. Hmm. This seems doomed to failure.
Dozens of members of the National Diversity Coalition, a group of Trump volunteers of different races, ethnicities and religions, are scheduled to huddle Friday in Washington, D.C., with staffers from the Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign.
“We saw that the coalition was out there supporting Mr. Trump all on their own and we wanted to share our strategic plan,” said Helen Ferre, the RNC’s director of Hispanic communications. “This is a diverse group of men and women, grassroots folks, who are coming to Washington on their own dime.”
Well, let me restate. It seems doomed to failure if the goal is getting people who are not white to vote for Donald Trump. If the goal is having a few people of color to appear in the media giving quotes about how they don’t think whatever the last racist thing Trump said is racist … it might succeed. This promising effort is being headed by a white guy from Kansas.
Also, ha ha ha at the idea of the RNC’s “strategic plan.” What’s that—get down on your knees and pray Trump doesn’t say anything ragingly racist today? And then repeat the routine tomorrow?
