Karl Rove famously pushed the tactic of accusing your opponents of your own weaknesses, but one Donald Trump Super PAC is taking it to a ridiculous extreme. The Crippled America PAC is trying to run a Benghazi ad, according to its fundraising email, but for some reason:
… the email address for Crippled America PAC is info@kkklinton.com, which is tied to the siteKKKlinton.com. That website is pretty basic, showing a photo of Clinton with the late Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), who was a KKK member in the 1940s.
Ah, yes. Clinton once posed for a picture with a guy who was in the KKK in the 1940s and then said, in 2005, “I know now I was wrong” and “I apologized a thousand times ... and I don’t mind apologizing over and over again. I can’t erase what happened.” Therefore, everyone should ignore the fact that Donald Trump is basically the chosen candidate of the KKK and other white supremacist groups, complete with glowing quotes from David Duke and other white supremacist leaders. Crippled America used a Karl Rove ninja move on you! You can’t possibly notice Trump’s problems here! Start by ignoring that anti-Semitic tweet, okay?
