If Donald Trump is elected president, expect his entire cabinet to be filled with people whose political careers were essentially over only to be resurrected by a man so toxic, no budding pol wants to be seen on stage with him.
People like Chris Christie, Mike Pence, Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani. Politico reports:
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to address the Republican National Convention — perhaps as early as Monday, the opening night of the convention, according to two sources familiar with the plans.
Giuliani came out in support of Trump in April, ahead of the New York primary, which Trump easily won. The former mayor has since emerged as something of a surrogate for Trump, recently defending the presumptive GOP nominee's controversial response to the Orlando mass shooting. During an appearance on Fox News in May, Trump said he was considering naming Giuliani to head a commission in immigration.
Frankly, when comparing Giuliani to Christie, Pence, and Gingrich, he almost looks good. Almost. Ok, not really. But that's the cabinet you're looking at, folks—drink it in.
