It’s the fourth and final day of the Democratic National Convention, the one that everything so far has been leading up to. We’ve heard from virtually all of the Democratic Party’s biggest names, with one exception: the person this whole convention is centered on. Hillary Clinton’s speech will obviously be the capstone of the convention, after days of people like Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton and Joe Biden and Barack Obama making the case for her. Chelsea Clinton will also speak, introducing her mother.
Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown was bumped from the lineup on Wednesday but will reportedly speak Thursday—thank goodness, since he’s someone the country should be hearing from. Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will also speak in prime time; beyond that, information on the politicians appearing is currently hard to come by.
As on other nights, though, some of the highlighted speakers won’t be politicians, but people whose lives Hillary Clinton has touched or who illuminate key issues in the campaign. Thursday night, that includes a homecare worker active in the Fight for $15; a woman who works two jobs while her husband works the night shift; the father of “one of 14 American Muslims who died serving the United States in the ten years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks”; and Jensen Walcott and Jake Reed, the former of whom was fired from her job after asking why the latter was being paid more than her.
It’s safe to say that Monday through Wednesday have given Thursday a lot to live up to. Daily Kos will cover events live from 8 PM to 11 PM ET.
