You can tell things are snowballing today by how many Republicans are now calling for Attorney General For Now Jeff Sessions to recuse himself in the investigations of Russian acts during the 2016 campaign.

These are only a few of the dozen-plus Republicans already publicly calling for Session's recusal; also included are Oversight Committee Chair Jason Chaffetz, as well as, of course, Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Yes, recusal from investigations into the very subject Sessions is now known to have lied about his own involvement with would seem the Absolute Least Damn Much a person could expect from a non-crooked government and party, but it still skirts the plain fact that Sessions lied to the Senate during his testimony. And that he lied not about a small or trivial thing, but about his connection to the single highest profile government investigation currently underway.
Republicans are hoping Sessions can get away only with recusing himself from the investigations into ... himself. That's what they're starting with as their corruption negotiation point. Meanwhile, over 100 House Democrats are calling for Sessions to resign for his perjury, because lying about your personal involvement with a major national security investigation is, among non-crooked persons, an absolute non-starter for a sitting attorney general.
