The White House spent some of its back from Mar-a-Lago time on Monday issuing a glowing press release talking about how super awesome ExxonMobil is and how they're creating jobs and Trump is creating jobs and sure the program everyone’s talking about started years ago, in 2013, but look how awesome they are and also Donald Trump loves oil and ex-Exxon head Rex Tillerson says hi and can you please look to see if he left a golf club in the break room because he can't find it now and anyway Exxon is just super.
Exxon Mobil is strategically investing in new refining and chemical-manufacturing projects in the United States Gulf Coast region to expand its manufacturing and export capacity. The company’s Growing the Gulf program consists of 11 major chemical, refining, lubricant and liquefied natural gas projects at proposed new and existing facilities along the Texas and Louisiana coasts. Investments began in 2013 and are expected to continue through at least 2022.
If you think that sounds suspiciously like something Exxon would write itself, guess what? They did. That part was lifted almost word-for-word from Exxon's own corporate press release. Donald Trump's White House runs like a well-oiled machine, and they're not going to spend extra effort coming up with these things themselves when they can outsource the corporate praise to the corporation they're praising.
They learned that one from now-EPA head Scott Pruitt!
