Donald Trump fired James Comey, but this guy gets to resign from a high-ranking White House job at his leisure: Taylor Weyeneth is 24 years old and his only post-college job outside the White House was on Trump’s campaign. While young campaign workers do get hired into presidential administrations, Weyeneth’s case is … special.
Weyeneth didn’t get hired into some entry-level job. He was hired as a White House liaison to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and quickly promoted to be its deputy chief of staff. If his stellar resume helped him along, that may be because his resume was filled with lies. Actually, make that his resumes plural:
Early last year, Weyeneth revised dates relating to certain jobs he held, including one at a New York law firm. A partner at the firm told The Post that Weyeneth was “discharged” because he stopped showing up for work.
On all three résumés, Weyeneth maintained that he had a master’s degree from Fordham University, although a university spokesman said Weyeneth had not completed his coursework.
An inexperienced liar with a history of not showing up for work. Why, this man should be president! For now, though, Weyeneth will be leaving his job at the end of the month.
The Office of National Drug Control Policy, by the way, is supposed to play a central role in combating the opioid crisis.
