Donald Trump started his day the usual way: Fox & Friends and Twitter. The Fox morning show continues to act as the presidential agenda-setter, and today, Alec Baldwin was on the agenda.
Trump subsequently deleted his original tweet to replace it with one that didn't misspell "dying." That profundity came between two tweets on trade, one of them insisting that trade wars are “easy to win” and the other that “IF YOU DON’T HAVE STEEL, YOU DON’T HAVE A COUNTRY!” Sounds like the efforts by many establishment Republicans to convince Trump not to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum are just making him dig in so far.
This after Thursday night, when Trump reminded us who he listens to on guns. Hint: It’s sure not the teen survivors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School or the grieving parents of Sandy Hook:
Good (Great) meeting with the NRA or not, between the Alec Baldwin attack and the all-caps trade tweets, sounds like Trump may be in a mood today—buckle your seat belts.
