Don't take it from me. A Republican strategist with clients on the ballot this November told Vanity Fair:
“At this stage of the game, losing the House is the most likely proposition. It’s just a matter of how bad it gets,”
Still, Vanity Fair reports Republicans are making a "final, desperate scramble" to salvage victory from the jaws of defeat. But apparently, trying to reason Donald Trump into standing down for his own good is a fool's errand that has been run by more than a few Republicans.
“You have people imploring the president not to put them in a position that will harm them—and therefore harm him,” one veteran GOP operative said.
As Washington lobbyists prepare to sidle up to whichever party wields the gavel, one Republican added, “Downtown, there is a sense that the House is already lost for Republicans.” Thus, lobbying firms are preparing to juice up their Democratic bona fides with well-connecteds on the left side of the aisle.
But technically speaking, the House isn't lost yet. It's still lumbering under the weight of the limp and lifeless Paul Ryan, who could potentially still hand the gavel to an even bigger suck-up than he's proven to be—Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California.
Let's make absolutely certain that doesn't happen! Can you give $3 right now to ensure sanity is restored to the House through Democratic control?
