The latest sign that Republicans expect to lose their majority in the House of Representatives is that the sniping and finger-pointing has started, albeit quietly:
GOP operatives connected to several vulnerable candidates complain that the committee responsible for electing House Republicans has failed to deliver on its promise to invest $62 million in political advertising across 11 states this fall, a promise detailed in a September memo that declared, “The cavalry is coming.”
Meanwhile, the infamous “green wave is coming” memo from the Congressional Leadership Fund super PAC points the finger back at candidates it says haven’t raised enough money for themselves.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has triaged at least three more Republican seats recently—Rep. Kevin Yoder in Kansas, Rep. Keith Rothfus in Pennsylvania, and Arizona candidate Lea Marquez Peterson—and more are likely on the way. Daily Kos Elections is tracking which House races have been triaged, so you can stay up to date.
