Fox News says that it is "disciplining" somebody, somewhere within the network for a Fox & Friends appearance by Trump's then-EPA administrator Scott Pruitt that turned out to be mostly scripted. Pruitt's aide offered the interview, prepared "talking points" he wanted covered, and wrote "we really need to stick with this as the topic." Fox sent back the script the network would use to introduce the segment, seeking the Pruitt team's approval.
None of this is how actual, non-state-run media is supposed to act, and rest assured Fox will be dealing with this with the same vigor they dealt with network talking head Sean Hannity popping up onstage at a Trump-led Republican election rally. As for how that will happen: nonaya bizness.
Fox would not say who was being disciplined, noting that it was a personnel matter, and what that discipline involved. Earlier, the network had said that “this is not standard practice whatsoever and the matter is being addressed internally with those involved.”
Oh boy. Somebody's getting extra glitter on their Fox News holiday greeting card and that stuff is going to get everywhere. Serves them right, making a mockery of the high standards Fox News spokespeople, who have never once watched the network they represent, insist that somebody in the building absolutely, positively, probably has.
