It's only a matter of time before Donald Trump managed to offend every last remaining constituency on earth other than angry white men, and now he can cross yet another one off his list: witches.
Real world witches are now openly objecting to Trump's constant histrionic references to the special counsel's investigatory "WITCH HUNT!" into his campaign's involvement with Russian interference in the 2016 election.
For Trump, it's a derogatory swipe at what he views as an unfair probe that threatens to bring down his presidency. But for practicing witches, it's downright triggering, writes the Daily Beast.
Actual witch hunts have left what witchcraft author Kitty Randall, who uses the name “Amber K.” in the witching world, calls a “traumatic emotional imprint” on modern-day witches.
“To have him compare his situation to the worst period in our history is just infuriating,” Randall said.
The Daily Beast reports that Trump has maligned the Mueller probe as a "witch hunt" more than 60 times, sometimes in all caps and often adorned with an exclamation point for a little added flare. But for witches, it's just another instance of Trump attacking an already marginalized community.
And just like with other groups, witches have parted ways on how to best deal with the plague known as Trump. Some have retaliated while others are content to just watch the orange menace self-implode.
Faced with a barrage of “witch hunt” slurs, some witches have chosen to raise the stakes, resorting to spell-casting. A group of witches organized on the internet casts a monthly “binding” spell on Trump, while another group attempted to hex Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
On the other hand, Randall doesn't see the point of casting any spells on Trump: “He’s in the middle of a process of self-destruction." As for a real witch hunt, Trump need not worry, says Randall, “No self-respecting coven would have him."
