Iowa Rep. Steve King was finally stripped of his House committee assignments after one white nationalism-promoting remark too many. Republican leadership had long turned a blind eye to King's promotion of European far-right radicals, his repeated defenses of white supremacist rhetoric, and the rest of his racist obsessions, but were finally motivated to take action after Republicans were plastered, nationwide, in midterm elections by voters contemptuous of the party's new dalliances with such extremism.
Steve King is not, however, remorseful. He considers himself the Jesus Christ of white nationalist toads, or so he intimated to constituents at an Iowa town hall.
"And, when I have to step down to the floor of the House of Representatives, and look up at those 400-and-some accusers, you know we just passed through Easter and Christ's passion, and I have better insight into what He went through for us partly because of that experience."
Hmm. Just ... hmm.
