A pair of Republican dirtbag smear peddlers tried to get South Bend mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg slapped with sexual assault allegations, the Daily Beast reports. Lobbyist Jack Burkman and well-known piece of crap slime merchant and troll Jacob Wohl tried to recruit multiple men to say that Buttigieg, who is gay, had assaulted them—and in one case, Burkman and Wohl apparently posted a false account of sexual assault from social media accounts they set up in the name of a man who did not consent to be a vehicle for such allegations.
One man provided the Daily Beast with a recording of Wohl and Burkman’s attempts to recruit him to the scheme, and “said Burkman and Wohl made clear that their goal was to kneecap Buttigieg’s momentum in the 2020 presidential race.”
Another, Hunter Kelly, appeared to post sexual assault allegations against Buttigieg on Medium—allegations that were tweeted out by Jacob Wohl’s father—but within hours posted on Facebook, “I WAS NOT SEXUALLY ASSAULTED.”
“It's important for everyone to know that I was not sexually assaulted and would never falsely accuse anyone,” Kelly continued. “To keep it brief for now, I was approached by a political figure to come to DC to discuss political situations from the standpoint of a gay Republican. When I arrived they discussed Peter Buttigieg and started talking about how they would be working a campaign against him.
“I went to bed and woke up to a fake Twitter @RealHunterKelly and an article that I in no way endorsed or wrote. I have since left and am working on a formal statement to give to everyone including the Buttigieg family.”
Wohl tried to push similar false sexual assault allegations against special counsel Robert Mueller last year, complete with similar websites of “intelligence” firms involved in pushing the smears. The big question is how these guys have not been charged with crimes for their attempts to derail public discourse with false sexual assault claims.
