Friday is the second day of public impeachment hearings into Donald Trump’s attempts to extort Ukraine into interfering in the 2020 elections, and Daily Kos will be covering the proceedings all day. George Kent, a deputy assistant secretary of state, and Bill Taylor, the acting ambassador to Ukraine, testified on Wednesday, bringing the revelation that Trump had been overheard on a phone call with Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland asking about “the investigations.” Former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch is up today, and will detail the smear campaign against her by Rudy Giuliani.
Republicans showed Wednesday that all they bring to the table is conspiracy theories, further attempts to smear Trump’s targets, and yelling. And the media showed itself to be unable to deal with what the day demanded. Will that change Friday?
And today’s hearing is in the books.

So, who else was expecting Daily Kos to get a shoutout from Republicans at today’s impeachment hearing?
Gym Jordan—the child sexual assault enabler—now up to shout various conspiracy theories.
Jim Jordan complaining people didn't come forward to say "knock off" bad behavior is really something given his history of covering for sexual abuse at Ohio State.
At this point in the waning moments of this testimony, there’s no new information coming out, but Marie Yovanovitch remains powerful, and the Republicans continue to do whatever they can to ignore the issues being investigated.
Understatement of the year? Yovanovitch just said there are morale issues at the State Department.
Testimony comes to an end, and fake-cow-victim Devin Nunes’ concludes with the hope that TV ratings are “plummeting.”
Adam Schiff ends with the bottom line:
This is an effort to coerce, condition or bribe a foreign power. The fact that they failed in this solicitation of bribery ... does not make it less corrupt.
