Welcome to this week’s edition of Daily Kos’ weekly show about politics, The Brief, with me and Kerry Eleveld. We air every Tuesday at 1:30 PM PT/4:30 PM ET. Watch live or catch the recording later, and let us know what you think!
This week, we are visiting with Aisha Yaqoob Mahmoud of the Asian American Advocacy Fund to talk about the great work they did in turning out their community in Georgia. When you win an election by such a thin margin, it means everyone’s work was the winning margin, and we couldn’t have done it without any of these critical groups—Asians, Black voters, Latinos, suburban white women, young voters, etc. And that goes for the January Senate runoffs in Georgia, so we’ll talk to Aisha about the work they’re doing to ensure the Asian vote turns out once again.
We’ll also talk to Daily Kos’ GOTV campaign organizer Paul Hogarth about Daily Kos’ own efforts in the state. Yup, it’s a theme—getting the vote out in Georgia. The next two years will look vastly different depending on who is in charge of the chamber.
So join us! Either live or later. Subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss an episode, live on Tuesdays at 1:30 PM PT/4:30 PM ET. And please, chip in today to help keep Georgia blue!
