I was thinking how Hillary Clinton
still gets big numbers in theoretical democratic presidential polls. I think it's because people are either afraid of the unknown or that there is no
perfect candidate in this field.
So here's a little thought exercise. Imagine in an alternate universe that Charlie Dean comes home from his around the world trip energized and ready to get back into politics. He heads back to North Carolina where he went to college, puts his nose to the grindstone, and voila in 2003 (or even 1991 maybe?) he's become the centrist multiterm carpetbagger governor of the state. He's known for being a plain spoken Yankee, but is yet somehow beloved by his constituents. He's also balanced North Carolina's budget.
Would you vote for this man?!?
