I figured it out before W did.
Here's the media's logic.
The more bombings and assassinations in Iraq, the better the outlook for the Iraqi people, because that means the killers are desperate.
Thus, the media, seeing the bombings for the good news that they are, covers them obediently, in deference to the White House.
Meanwhile, they don't cover the school openings and police academy graduations, because they'll drive the killers to kill again. School openings are bad news for us, and for the Iraqi people.
That's also why Bush is gutting American schools and allowing the energy companies to neglect our power grid. Because we don't want the killers to think we're making any progress here. Then they'd come here and kill.
Nope. Much better to improve Iraq slowly, and keep the killers there. We'll just neglect ourselves into the Stone Age.
And the media will keep spreading the good news.
