Salon.com had a lead article today saying that Democrats have failed to distinguish themselves from Bush. They cited lots of reasons, but suggested that they needed an issue and so far Iraq hasn't played out for them.
I've got one: outsourcing. It particularly plays well to the white collar crowd, but also to the blue collar crowd working in manufacturing. Reasonable laws to limit outsourcing overseas and to require businesses who do work in the United States to hire Americans, perhaps based on the amount of business done in the United States, strikes me as a winning issue.
Certainly the Reps won't do anything on this issue and it will play well with the voters.
What do you think?
