In his diary, Slacker criticizes Dean for claiming that
"he alone represents the Democratic wing of the Democratic party".
Which is fair. I tend to agree with Dean on this, but I digress. It's midly insulting to the other candidates and Democratic Politicians who disagree with Dean. Slacker makes a valid point here, and if that were all he said, it would be fine. However, Slacker doesn't stop there...
If Dean is willing to make ever so slightly veiled threats like this, he is not in my opinion a true Democrat, and I'm going to make one right back. If he is the nominee, I won't vote for him--and I'll try to convince as many others as possible to do the same...I'll hold out for '08, for a respectable Democrat as nominee, who won't hold the party hostage to his personal ambition.
Way to go, re-elect Bush. That's really Democratic of you, also very wise. Especially the part about encouraging others to write-in someone else. It's the path to victory against Dean, because he apparently is the enemy.
But Slacker continues his ridiculous, craven rant:
So I implore all of you who have already shown the sense not to support Dean, to join me. We need to mount an effort at a kind of counter-insurgency, to "take back" the party for the REAL Democrats
Fucking indeed. Dean supporters have no common sense. We're also not Real Democrats. So allow me to summarize: It's not fair for Dean to claim that he alone represents Real Democrats. But it is fair for the non-Dean supporters to criticize Dean, and more importantly, his supporters, as being not "Real" Democrats. Hello, blatant hypocrisy. I used to think that hypocrisy was reserved for Republicans. Apparently, I was wrong.
So I say to you Slacker, and those who may agree with this asinine assault on alot of intelligent, dedicated Democrats:
I'm a "Real" Democrat you asshole, and I support Howard Dean. Eat a dick.
Oh, and by the way, a "Real" Democrat will vote for the Democratic nominee no matter what. So I guess you can't be counted as a real Democrat. I guess you just proved Dean's point, Slacker.
