"Seizing on a fresh report about the financing of critical ads, Democrat Howard Dean assailed front-runner John Kerry on Wednesday for being part of 'the corrupt political culture in Washington.'" It seems like just the other day Dean was calling Kerry a Republican.
I donated a good bit of money to Dean, but not on the impression that he would say these sort of ad hominem "holier-than-thou" things about other Democratic candidates.
Dean must realize that he has very little chance of getting the nomination. If he is staying in the race for anything other than spite, it has to be to help move a certain agenda forward -- but is alienating his active supporter base from the likely Democratic nominee a sensible part of that effort?
Whatever the reasoning, because Dean is a great person in so many ways -- it seems a little tragic. What do people think?
