Every now and then I check out www.georgewbush.com to get my blood pumping against the administration and I couldn't help but crack up over their latest web ad. Of all the possible ways they could attack Kerry, they chose to hone in on his absences from the senate while he has been campaigning. Brilliant move Karl; the average American certaintly doesn't have the intelligence to realize that campaigning across the country takes a lot of time, especially when one runs for president. I'm sure that most reasonable people would agree that John Kerry shouldn't even be campaigning at all, but should quietly praise our President while sitting meticulously through every senate debate, even the philibusters.
Perhaps one of you can dig up some numbers about Bush's vacation time while president, and what proportion of his time he has spent campaigning during what he calls "a time of war." FDR hardly campaigned at all during WWII; if Bush is going to compare the war on terror to WWII then we should hold him to the same standard.
Is this all they've got? If so, I say we are going to have an easy shot in November.
