The AP is reporting that attacks on US troops since Saddam's capture
have dropped sharply. They then compare the numbers of wounded and dead from the four weeks after Saddam's capture with the four weeks before. Lo, and behold, the numbers are down (20% and 20%, respectively).
The problem? It's obvious when you look at Lunavile's breakdown. November was the highest single month of casualties. The 109 coalition troops that died in the month of November average 3.63 per day. December had 48 deaths for a 1.55 dead per day average, and thus far in January, it's a higher average of 1.62 dead per day. December and January are on the same course as pre-November (excepting April's high count).
This lax reporting of misleading stats is bad news, and will most certainly be trumpted by the Bush team. Let the AP know about this.
