Despite the setbacks over the last week, there's a couple reasons I wouldn't count Dr. Dean out yet. He put together a very good showing on both Letterman and Primetime last night, he looked good at the debate, and then of course, there's the biggy (finally got some official numbers):
Dean has raised $590,000 since his damaging Iowa loss, his campaign reported last night. By comparison, Kerry and John Edwards, who finished second in Iowa, had raised $365,000 and $250,000 by Tuesday evening, respectively.
He's almost outraised the other two combined ($25,000 short of beating them both). He can still win this, especially with the cash reserves that we've built up over 6 months of leading in fundraising.
One other side note: Earlier this week on CNN.com, they ran a banner-article talking about a fund-raising surge for Kerry since his Iowa win. Why oh why are they focusing on Kerry's fund-raising when Dean is outraising him handily since Iowa? Would that be another example of bias? hmmmm, I wonder.
