Now, the banner changes if you look at it long enough, but you have to wait a very long time. And when you see it change, what does it say? Paid for by the Republican National Committee.
Somehow it doesn't surprise me. It doesn't surprise me that they are using cheap banners on SiteMeter pages to distort the truth and attack the opposition party. It doesn't surprise me that they are digging up misleading pictures from a compelling speech in front of Democratic Party leadership in which Howard Dean challenged conventional thought, stood up from the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party, and told everyday Americans that they have the power to take back their country. It doesn't surprise me that the RNC would do these things... but it doesn't stop there.
The ad also says it is not endorsed by a particular candidate, but we all know that isn't true.
If you follow the link to the Republican Team sign up page you will plainly see five pictures of President Bush and a quote from his State of the Union Address. Bill Frist didn't make the page. Tom DeLay didn't make it. Arnold didn't make the directors cut this time. No, no, all Bush, all the time.
What about the "Democrats have no defense." quote? No defense against what? Pre-emptive war? Special Interest contributions and attack ads? The Patriot Act? I think the question on what we are defending ourselves from is a valid one, because it would seem to me that this ad is bragging about their aggressive attack campaigning.
The last thing about this ad I want to touch on is the link at the very bottom: "Click here to get the facts."
When you click on the ad it takes you here, to a page where you can sign up for the 'Republican Team.' On the right side of that page a quote clearly reads, "We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, other presidents, and other generations" as put by President Bush in his 2003 State of the Union Address.
Well man, I must have misread the facts, because it seems to me that the defecit is adding more and more of a burden onto the soldiers of each American citizen. As a matter of fact, over six years an American family of four will take on $52,000 more in its share of the national debt. Definately sounds like the budget defecit will be passed on past the Bush Administration and onto another Congress, another President, and another generation.
Howard Dean always says "not one republican president has balanced the budget in 34 years, you cant trust reps with your money!" and he is right.
I still can't get over it... attack banners. What will they think of next?
